What the heck is 666?

Image
( Witches Sabbath by  Francisco de Goya) This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666. (Revelation 13:18). I really enjoyed writing the last post that I thought I would ride this wave a little longer. I talked a lot about conspiracy theories and I thought I would share one that I looked into a little bit last year. In another life, I feel like I would have pursued a career in history. I even went back to school for history at one point, but I knew in my heart I was meant to be a therapist. I love history and learning about the different time periods. History can be a great escape from the constant noise we hear on an everyday basis. We can learn a lot from history. This doesn't always have to be from a book either. Hamilton was a great way to learn about Hamilton and the beginning of America, even though it isn't completely accurate. The Patriot showed the brutal side of the revolu

Dr. SusLove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Government Surveillance

Image
The Scream by  Edvard Munch Just to set the record straight, I have been using the word sus  for years. With the rise of Among Us, the word sus has taken to the heart and soul of many zoomers. While on vacation, I would see kids with among us shirts with the word sus on them. I saw on Facebook an ad for among us sus socks. I even have a Gamertag with the word sus and someone asked if I wanted to play among us. I have fallen from grace and almost a decade of using the word sus to be ""funny"" has brought my practical catchphrase to the knees of a gaming meme reference. I am empty and lost.  Cringy titles aside, I haven't written a blog post in a while. Well, if college doesn't kill me, I hope to write a little more later in 2022. I've had a lot on my mind recently and hopefully, this post will actually be published rather than the 32 other drafts sitting dormant that will never be for your viewing pleasure. I think you, the reader, deserve better than a

Inceldom

Todd Phillips Joker In October of 2019, Todd Phillip's Joker  was hitting theaters soon and I learned that possible terroristic threats were coming about due to the discussion of incels shooting up movie theaters in the same fashion as the 2012 Dark Knight Rises shooting in Colorado. With hearing the term incel in the past, I wasn't exactly familiar with the community or its purpose. Upon finding an active forum, I decided to learn more about this internet group thus beginning my journey down the rabbit hole. So what is an Incel? Short for involuntary celibate, men who cannot form a sexual relationship with women due to many different external factors such as appearance, size, demeanor, as well as the woman's societal expectation in a mate. Incels believe that due to evolution, women are attracted to strong fit men that can provide for them in which they can have offspring. If the man does not meet the physical appearance they can still have a woman if they are financially

The Orbiter

Bianca Devins posted from her Instagram This post has been sitting in my draft section for over a year now. This was a topic I wanted to research more on which sent me down a year-long rabbit hole to a group of individuals that I am most likely going to devote a whole dissertation to in the future. Long story short Bianca Devins was a victim of a phenomenon, a bigger picture of the internet that has been developed around mental health, despair, and the darker sides of the human psyche. The Tradegy of Bianca Devins Bianca Devins was a 17-year-old girl from Utica, New York. She suffered from depression, anxiety, and had suicidal ideations at times. Bianca's Instagram today has 163,000 followers with only having 10 posts at this time. Bianca suffered from troubled home life and sought refuge on the internet as most people do today. She befriended Brandon Clark through the internet and would eventually meet in person during her high school graduation. Bianca and Brandon were only

13 Reasons Why Season 4: Nothing Really Matters

Image
(Clay Jenson having a mental breakdown or something) 13 Reasons Why has finally, painfully, came to a close. I have had a love and hate relationship with this series and with me doing a post on every other season, it only seemed fair to finish the series. My personal verdict, this season was terrible. I did not like it on a plethora of reasons both with the story, acting, and topics at hand. This show tries to represent current events but seems to struggle with having any idea of what they are trying to preach. School shooting check, mental health check, riots, check, AIDS check check check! Every episode ends with a crazy shock just to follow up next with nothing. I'm gonna break down the good, bad, and main issue of this season and wrap it all up for you the reader. The Good I struggled to find any positives to this show especially this season. The mystery of who is disrupting the lives of the main characters is shadowed to the murder mystery of who murdered Bryc
